Sometimes we keep back some of our puppies/dogs for evaluation. These pups/dogs may have potential for AKC events or have other outstanding breed qualities or standards that require some "growing out" time to further evaluate their potential...
If we decide to place these puppies/dogs once they have been evaluated, it may be for a variety of reasons. Some reasons are as simple as timing issues or perhaps our goals for our breeding program have changed, others are bit more complex - perhaps there is an unexpected or undesired trait being passed on that needs to be eliminated, such a crazy cowl lick in the fur or a tendency to be overly shy in large groups or social settings.
Our decision to place an older puppy is your gain!
Older puppies have a lot to offer the working family, the smaller puppies are using paper and are in a community whelping box. Older pups are building a foundation for going outside through playing and socializing with our other dogs. The dogs that are older are using a doggie door and have access to our back yard, they are crated at night with out other dogs for development of a stable routine.
